Oliver Bonas is the latest retailer to team up with repair and resale specialist Reskinned for a new take-back scheme which will give “pre-loved items a chance to shine once again”.

The initiative, which will be launching later this year, allows customers to trade in used Oliver Bonas clothing, footwear, accessories and bags in return for up to £25 credit which they can then spend on new items online.

The fashion, jewellery and homewares retailer said the partnership will help it to “maximise the lifespan of Oliver Bonas garments” while continuing to reduce waste and and “breathe new life” into products otherwise destined for the back of the wardrobe.

“We want our products to be loved, worn for years to come and get as much use as possible, which is why we’ve partnered with Reskinned,” Oliver Bonas stated.

The fashion-forward retailer has chosen to work with Reskinned because it offers “full transparency of where items end up” and no product goes to landfill.

Shoppers will be able to shop the pre-loved Oliver Bonas products once Reskinned has taken the items and reconditioned them ready to be resold, where they will be available for around 40-50% of the original price.

Pieces that cannot be reconditioned for resale will be repurposed or upcycled into something new. If they have reached the end of their life and can no longer be resold, Reskinned will responsibly recycle them.

The takeback partnership is “starting slow” and will initially be accepting clothing, footwear, accessories and bags.

Reskinned already partners with a range of retail partners including Joules, River Island and, most recently, Dune London.
