allplants is planning to save 51 tonnes going into landfill per year, including 3 tonnes of plastic with its new sustainable delivery packaging.
The switchover in packaging ensures that all allplants delivery packaging will now be curb side recyclable. This allows the brand to remove the need for carbon-intensive box returns; a great result for both customers and the planet.
Last year allplants started searching for packaging solution that has a minimal environmental impact and still keeps their dishes cool and frozen. The previously used denim liner in boxes would often end up in landfill, plus generating carbon emissions from transporting the box returns.
After extensive research and testing, the allplants team found an alternative to the inner denim liner, which is 100% biodegradable, compostable and recyclable and doesn’t compromise food quality.

allplants founder Jonathan Petrides said he is “excited about this evolution – not only in our packaging, but also in our commitment to sustainability.
“Our journey goes beyond serving delicious, healthy, plant-based meals; it’s about showing an alternative brighter path for the food industry,” he added.
The news comes after a report highlighting that 85% of people supported banning conventional plastic packaging where alternative compostable solutions were available, with 70% of people viewing a product more positively when packaged in compostable packaging.
This story has been updated on 21 August: The original story stated allplants will save 7.5 tonnes of landfill per year. This has now been amended to 51 tonnes.
