Fujitsu has been involved in more stringent initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality in its business activities. In April 2021, the SBTi certified its GHG emissions reduction target as 1.5 °C -aligned. At the same time, Fujitsu raised its Scope 1 & 2 emissions reduction target for 2030 from a 33% reduction compared to 2013 to a 71.4% reduction.

Fujitsu’s roadmap toward carbon neutrality

Fujitsu said it will reduce emissions by introducing renewable energy in its business activities and value chain and use AI and other technology to optimise energy efficiency.

It stated: “By building such technologies into a framework that transcends business, industry, and regional boundaries, the Group will achieve optimal utilisation of energy throughout all systems in society.”

By 2025, the company also aims to build a circular economy business model by designing products that conserve resources and improve resource recycling rate.
