Circular marketplace Depop is bringing pre-loved fashion to the high street as it launches a number of second-hand pop-ups across the UK ahead of the festive season.

The six-month partnership with retail pop-up provider Sook will bring resale platform Depop to life as it encourages consumers to shop for second-hand fashion.

Depop will be bringing its eclectic mix of handpicked designer, vintage and classic clothing to a number of iconic locations across the country, including London’s Oxford Street, the Birmingham Bullring, Liverpool One and Edinburgh’s St. James Quarter.

The preloved fashion marketplace recently pledged to reduce its scope 3 emissions by 52% over the next seven years; part of the online fashion retailer’s sustainability aims and impact goals for 2023 and beyond.

Depop director of brand and marketing Steve Dool said: “We’re excited to be working with Sook again to give people the opportunity to shop from their favourite Depop sellers in the real world.

“We hope we can reach and inspire more people to look to circular fashion options that are kinder to the planet, rather than buying new.”

The pre-loved pop-ups are made possible through ‘Powered by Depop’, a programme which gives sellers the tools to take their business offline and aims to promote the purchase of circular fashion.

Sook founder John Hoyle added: “We are very excited to be partnering with Depop to elevate the businesses of young entrepreneurs and help increase access to circular fashion in real life across the country.

“This new partnership is in line with our goal of supporting brands in bringing their vision to life, and is reflective of the growing appetite amongst UK consumers to shop more consciously.”
