Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and its Foundation have extended their partnership with international circular economy specialist Reconomy.

The relationship dates back over 25 years and was deepened ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League when Reconomy became Wolves’ sustainability partner as well as back of shirt sponsor of Wolves’ women’s first-team.

The partnership will continue until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Through the partnership, the football club has established an ecommerce returns capability delivered by Reconomy brand ReBound.

Additionally, in June 2023, the Premier League team donate a brand-new girls’ football kit made from recycled plastic to a local Wolverhampton primary school.

Early last year, Wolves launched its One Pack One Planet project, which has seen the club commit to being net zero by 2040, as well as addressing waste, protecting the natural environment and embedding sustainability across the club.

Wolves facilities, safety and security director Steve Sutton said embedding sustainability in the football club is “key” to its strategy.

“We have made huge strides with Reconomy’s support recently but we want to go further and so we will continue to innovate to ensure fans can support their team in a sustainable way,” he added.

Wolves Foundation business development manager Kieron Ansell added: “Reconomy has been a loyal partner of the Club and the community so we welcome their continued support as we look to change lives in the Wolverhampton area.”
