Bailey is set to trial an aluminium bottles as owner, drinks giant Diageo, is ups the ante on sustainability.
Diageo said it will make over 30,000 of the 70cl aluminium Baileys bottles available in the pilot scheme.
The move could lead to a 44% cut in carbon emissions compared to the glass bottles.
The bottles, which are five times lighter than the traditional Baileys bottles, will initially be sold on trial at selective airports.
Baileys global brand director Sarah Blake said: “As the largest global spirits brand to join the B Corp movement, we are proud to drive our progress in the community with our latest innovation to deliver positive impact.
“While this is an important milestone for Baileys, we know that there is more we can do. We are already looking forward to the delivery of more initiatives as we journey towards our 2030 commitments.”

Diageo has several sustainability targets including increasing the recycled content of its packaging to 60% and cutting the weight of its packaging by 10%.
In January this year, Diageo launched an open innovation call for start-ups to improve water use across its supply chain.
The drinks giant is trialling reusable glass packaging across Gordon’s gin, Captain Morgan rum and Smirnoff vodka.
